VISTA Communication and Outreach

VISTA/Pathway, Inc. (Pathway) is seeking a VISTA Communication and Outreach Worker. This is a contractual position.

Essential Functions:

  • Works with agency leadership to plan, promote and present all of Pathway programs including remote activities, workshops, social media, and community relations.
  • Assists with the development of a Marketing Plan for the agency.
  • Assists the agency in updating its interagency referral system.
  • Develops strategies for the promotion of Pathway programs and video works, including identifying target audiences and the most effective methods of reaching them.
  • Assists with developing and distributing publicity materials, press releases and other promotional materials.
  • Assists in maintaining and updating the agency website as social media outlets.
  • Distributes mail and email promotions and assists with developing other web-based promotions.
  • Maintains a secured database of community relationships and press contacts.
  • Assists with developing and strengthening relationships with local, regional, state and federal contacts.
  • Performs other related work as assigned.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint and other computer applications.

  • Demonstrated ability with social media marketing and strategies including outreach.
  • Knowledge of layout and design for print and web-based promotional materials.

  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare, submit and maintain accurate and timely project reports as required.
  • Excellent customer service and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in order to contribute to problem-solving activities within a growing and transforming agency.

  • Ability to communicate with a diverse group of people and be a good representative of the agency.

  • Must be able to work cooperatively with social service agencies, faith-based organizations, funders and partners

Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Public or Business Administration preferred or an equivalent combination of education and 5+ years’ experience is required.
