Advocacy and Outreach Director

Senior Centers, Inc. in Toledo, Ohio welcomes applicants for the position of Advocacy and Outreach Director

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinating the House Helpers/Housekeepers program: employee recruitment/hiring/training/supervision, occasional client home visits, data tracking and entry, marketing.
  • Informing clients about community support services such as energy assistance, public transportation, insurance, prescription assistance, housing, etc. and providing referrals to other local, state and federal programs.
  • Coordinating food commodity program with community partners, including the Senior Farmer’s Market Coupons.
  • Maintaining organized and up-to-date information about and develop relationships with other area providers that deliver services for clients.
  • Providing marketing and payroll tabulation support to the Foster Grandparent Program.
  • Promoting programs and services of Senior Centers, Inc. within the community through assisting with the monthly newsletter, updating social media and website, attending speaking engagements and information fairs, and communicating with hospitals and social workers.
  • Serves as additional driver of organization vehicles for client trips as needed.
  • Assists as needed with implementation of recreational and educational activities at center.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an associate degree is required.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license, reliable transportation and ability to operate the agency’s vehicles.
  • Excellent organization, time management and communication skills, including public speaking.
  • Ability to operate general office machines and computer, especially Microsoft Word and Excel programs, internet and email.

Work hours are generally Monday-Friday, first shift. Benefits for full-time employees include medical insurance, life insurance, retirement, mileage reimbursement and paid time off (holidays/vacation/sick/personal). Annual salary for full-time position is $35,568.00. Candidates interested in part-time work, at least 20 hours per week, will be considered. Note that pay and benefits are different for part-time employment.
